The COR-Center for Oral Rehabilitation, founded and owned by Dr Jacopo Castelnuovo, is a technological advanced facility with state-of-the-art equipment.
Located in Rome in the residential neighborhood of Parioli, it is only a short distance from the downtown historical area and the main Termini railway station.
The four operatories are equipped with American-made dental chairs. The standard patient rinsing sink that is usually found on these dental chairs and cannot be sterilized has been eliminated in order to avoid cross infections, and has been substituted by personal disposable vacuum-operated funnels. These sterile funnels are changed for each patient.
In each operatory, it is possible for the clinician to show the patient radiographs, clinical images and periodontal charts (pocket depths) directly on flat screens placed in front of the dental chair.
The digital radiographic units installed in each operatory reduce the patient’s exposition to ionizing radiations by one-third.
Furthermore, since the digital processing of X-rays does not require the use of conventional processing and fixation liquids, it is considered environmentally friendly due to the elimination of the chemical wastes.
The floor and walls in the operative area are covered with surgical anti-bacterial and cleansable PVC. The corners between the walls and floor are rounded and without wall sockets in order to avoid the accumulation of impurities and residues.
Likewise, the furniture in the operatories is suspended to allow for the cleaning of otherwise unreachable areas.
The sterilization room, fulcrum of the clinic floor, opens into the operative area without barriers so that it is visible to the patient. The equipment in the sterilization room consists of a cold sterilization sink, an ultrasonic unit, rinsing area, thermal disinfector, instrument package sealer, and two autoclaves.
The designated personnel follows a codified sterilization route that originates with used dirty instruments and then produces packaged sterilized equipment without any risk of error or contamination. Thus the instruments follow only one direction and avoid contact with dirty and clean armamentarium.
A multi-medial room is next to the clinic floor where courses are given to dental colleagues who share the COR-Center for Oral Rehabilitation’s passion for dentistry.
Lastly, there is a reception room and a comfortable waiting room equipped with WI-FI Internet connection.
