Oral Surgery is a branch of dentistry dealing with the diagnosis, surgical and related treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, teeth, gums, and jaws.

It involves, but is not limited to, tooth extractions, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, apicoectomy (see Endodontics), TMJ disorder, facial trauma, biopsies (incisional and excisional) for the removal of oral growths and pathologies, osseous tissue surgery (bone grafts, bone regeneration procedures, ridge augmentation procedures, sinus floor lifts, etc.)

Surgical procedures are carried out in an outpatient setting, both with local anesthesia and I.V. sedation (intravenous).
